Good article, thanks for the details! I'm the OneAPI project leader for the GSMA (see http://www.gsmworld.com/oneapi ) - just to confirm, the idea is that not just aggregators, but also any operator, can implement OneAPI and hence improve portability of apps, including desktop Web apps that call network APIs. OneAPI can work on non-mobile networks too (e.g. fixed line, broadband, IMS). We also work on reducing the non-API hurdles when working with operators: different AAA/settlement processes/Ts & Cs/policies etc.. The goal is that this will help put consistent network APIs into the API ecosystem and be a handy, portable tool for developers to use as part of their toolkit along with device and Web APIs.
